35th Session of the UPR Working Group, Review of Kenya

Statement by Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Mr. President,

My delegation welcomes the delegation of the Kenya to the third cycle of the UPR and thanks them for the presentation of the national report.

We recognize that the Kenyan Government has made some reforms in the justice system and the police forces.

We command the increased provision of health and medical care to women.

Mr. President,

My delegation would like to present the following recommendations to the Kenyan Government:

1. To continue the efforts to end malnutrition in all vulnerable layers of the society.
2. To adopt policy and measures to end sex trafficking and forced labor.
3. To ratify Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution, and child pornography.
4. To continue its efforts to increase access to education facilities at all levels.

We wish Kenyan delegation a successful review.
