Mr. President,

The Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its appreciation to the distinguished delegation of Mongolia for the presentation of its national report.

Iran commends Mongolia for its continued efforts to promote and protect human rights and for its constructive engagement with the Universal Periodic Review process. We also welcome the new legislative measures in support of the family and child protection.

In the spirit of constructive engagement, Iran would like to offer the following recommendations:

First, to continue its commendable efforts in promoting human rights education and ensuring inclusive access to educational and learning materials for all;

Second, to further strengthen the protection of the rights of the child through supportive measures that reinforce the role of the family and ensure age-appropriate and quality education;

Third, to enhance women’s participation in decision-making processes at all levels of governance.

Iran wishes Mongolia every success in the implementation of these recommendations and in its continued efforts to promote and protect human rights.
