The Human Rights Council
55th Session
Item 4:
Draft resolution A/HRC/55/l.6
Geneva, 3 April 2024
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
Mr. President,
Few days ago, Diplomatic Premises of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Syria were brutally hailed and bombarded by Israel; three weeks back, on 18th March, Israel conducted an overnight raid on Al-Shifa hospital that added another crime against humanity to the previous 33 thousands of massacre mainly women and children; just couple of days ago, the mad occupying forces killed some members of Aid Workers who were feeding people in Gaza.
It is not the first and will not be the last time that crimes against humanity are perpetrated by Israel regime; and this council, should keep Israel responsible for the human rights consequences of its ferity.
Mr. President,
Today, the Human Rights council is facing a highly politicized draft resolution on the “situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran” that entails two unwarranted mechanisms. The most ridiculous part of the story is that the main sponsors of this resolution particularly the US regime and Germany are the supporters of the Israel terrorist regime who are emboldening its unhuman acts either in Palestine or in the region. What is today happening in Human Rights Council is a historical shame for the sponsors of this draft resolution. This resolution with its mandates that are neither reasonable nor truth seeking, are a part of the costs that Iran is paying for its genuine defense of the cause of the Palestinian people. Iran is proud of supporting Palestine and will continue opposing occupation and oppression.
Mr. President,
Considering the Political aspects of the issue, my delegation rejects with strongest terms the draft resolution L.6 that seeks silencing the voice of Iran that will never happen. Iran is responsibly protecting and promoting the rights of its people and is vigilant before any malicious intention. The establishment of National Special committee by our president is a clear manifestation Iran’s strong willingness to protect and promote human. With the aim of protecting the HRC from further politicization and discrimination, we invite all responsible members of the Council who truly care the credibility of this august body to vote against this draft resolution.
Thank you.
