Mr. President,

We commend the efforts of Bangladesh for hosting huge number of displaced Rohingya Muslims and for providing them with temporary shelter and humanitarian assistance;

The Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its deep concerns over the plight of Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar.

 The Fact that a huge number of Rohingya Muslims have been forced to flee their homeland and are left stateless due to persistent persecution and massive violation of their basic human rights is extremely disturbing and appalling.

While we highlight that it is the duty of the State to protect human rights of its people, we call upon the concerned State's authorities to take appropriate measures in furtherance of their responsibilities.
