Fars, the fourth largest province in Iran, is located in the south of the country. Fars is the land of culture, poetry and spring.
History
Fars, from the eleventh century BC, has been the home of one of the tribes attributed to the Aryan, called Pars. The name of this province and the Persian Gulf, which was cut off from the provinces of Fars province in the year 1352, was transferred to the province of Bushehr, derived from the name of the same tribe.
Geography
Fars province is limited to the central city of Shiraz from north to Isfahan, east to Yazd, south to Hormozgan, and west to Kohgiluyeh and Bushehr. It has plains and deserts, lakes, mountains, valleys and straits, rivers and many springs, and mountainous areas account for 70% of the province.
According to the last divisions of the country in 2011, the province has 29 counties. Shiraz, Marvdasht, Kazeroon, Jahrom, Larestan and Fasa, respectively, are the most populous cities of Fars province based on the census conducted in 1395.

Fars province is divided into three mountainous weather regions (with very cold winters), central area (with relatively moderate winters and hot summer summers), and the third is divided into mild winters and very hot summers.
