Report of the President-Elected Special Committee Investigating the 2022 Unrests
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s President-Elected Special Committee have published its report investigating the 2022 unrests with the aim of enlightening the public opinion as well as United Nations Member States. This report has also been submitted to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the principle of responsibility, issued a decree on May 7, 2023, establishing a special committee at the national level. This committee was tasked with important missions to conduct transparent and impartial investigations, compensate damages to citizens and law enforcement officers, and all related institutions were also obliged to cooperate with it. Upon its establishment, the Special Committee promptly prioritized thorough and unbiased investigations. Ultimately, on March 6, 2024, the committee submitted its exhaustive report, consisting of 279 pages along with 17 attachments, to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
