Madam Chair,

Thank you for granting me the floor. I express my gratitude to the Indonesian Mission for convening this significant event, fostering collaboration among G77 and China. With special thank to colleagues from South Center for their thoughtful presentation, In the matter of the the current discussion, I wish to emphasize the following points:

In the negotiation process of the Global Digital Compact (GDC), effective coordination among G77 and China is imperative. The complexities of the digital landscape necessitate a united front to address the Digital Divide comprehensively. Coordinated efforts are essential for shaping inclusive policies, fostering infrastructure development, and facilitating capacity building to ensure equitable access to the benefits of digitalization. Moreover, coordination is critical in collectively shaping Technology Transfer initiatives, addressing concerns related to Data Governance and Privacy, and formulating provisions for Capacity Building programs. This collaborative approach enhances the collective efficacy of G77 and China member states in navigating financial constraints, exploring mechanisms for Financial Support, and participating inclusively in governance structures. Recognizing and respecting the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds within the G77 and China, coordination ensures that the Global Digital Compact aligns with the unique needs of each member state. Ultimately, coordinated efforts among G77 and China nations in the negotiation process are essential for crafting a comprehensive and inclusive Global Digital Compact that contributes to sustainable development goals, ensuring a fair and equitable digital future for all.
