Statement by Ms. Ms. Neda Alikhani before 50th Session of the UPR Working Group - Review of the Republic of the Marshal Islands
Geneva - 10 November 2025
Statement by Ms. Neda Alikhani Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva before 50th Session of the UPR Working Group Review of the Republic of the Marshal Islands Geneva, 10 November 2025 ***** بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم Mr. President, The Islamic Republic of Iran takes note of the national report of the Marshall Islands. Iran voice its concern over the continued human rights consequences of the nuclear tests, which continue to claim victims in the Marshall Islands. The intergenerational impacts of radiation exposures, particularly among the children and grandchildren of affected populations, remain a matter of serious and legitimate concern. In a constructive spirit, the Islamic Republic of Iran is pleased to offer the following three recommendations to the Marshall Islands: First: Pursue reparation and redress for the victims of the legacy of nuclear tests conducted by the United States in the Marshall Islands; Second: Take concrete measures to prevent domestic violence and human trafficking, and ensure accountability for perpetrators; Third: Develop and implement more climate-resilient policies and measures to safeguard social, infrastructural, and agricultural systems in times of emergency. The Islamic Republic of Iran wishes the Marshall Islands a successful review. Thank you ----
