Statement By  Ms. Farzaneh Bani Asad Azad Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Before 49th Session of the UPR Working Group Review of the Grenada Geneva, 5 May 2025  **** بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم Madam Vice president, The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes engagement of the delegation Grenada to the UPR process and thanks for their national report presented to this session. Iran acknowledges Grenada’s efforts to promote human rights, particularly in areas such as gender-based violence and environmental resilience.   In the spirit of cooperation, Iran recommends that Grenada: 1- Ratify key international treaties including the Convention Against Discrimination in Education. 2- Enhance access to quality education for all children. 3- Strengthen its efforts in promoting women's employment and economic empowerment. Addressing wage disparities and ensuring equal opportunities in all sectors will be essential for achieving gender equality. 4- Continue its efforts in developing and implementing comprehensive strategies for environmental resilience. By accepting and implementing these recommendations, Grenada can strengthen its commitment to human rights and foster a more inclusive society. Iran wishes Grenada a successful review. Thank you. ---
