---------------------  Statement By Ms. Somayyeh Karimdoost Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Before 47th Session of the UPR Working Group Review of Qatar Geneva, 12 November 2024 بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم Mr. Vice President, The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the delegation of the State of Qatar and thanks for their report. Iran hails the remarkable global human rights initiatives undertaken by Qatar in recent years including organization of a global conference to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the “International Year of the Family” held last month in Doha and “Interfaith Dialogue Conference” in 2022. Iran also acclaims national strategies of Qatar for promotion and protection of human rights particularly Qatar National Vision 2030 and medium-term national development strategies.  In the spirit of constructive engagement, Iran offers the following recommendations to Qatar:  First, continue its valuable efforts in preserving and strengthening the traditional family values, parental rights and related social heritage including supporting the historical family institution  Second, continue active participation in mechanisms and international meetings related to right to development  Third, strengthen national and regional efforts in combatting Trafficking in Human Beings  Fourth, continue its active role in regional and international organizations for combatting Islamophobia in the world Iran wishes a successful review for the state of Qatar.
