Statement By Ms. Somayeh Karimdoost Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Before 46th Session of the UPR Working Group Review of Cambodia Geneva, 8 May 2024    بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم    Mr. President,   The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the delegation of Cambodia headed by Mr. KEO Sothie, Vice President of the Cambodia Human Rights Committee and commend their full engagement with UPR mechanism.  Acknowledging decades of economic growth in Cambodia resulting to a considerable reduction in poverty, the Islamic Republic of Iran recommends the continuation of all such developing steps mainly in rural areas.  With cognizance of the vulnerabilities of Cambodia facing with climate change challenges, we recommend Cambodia to:  trengthen its internal efforts to ensure the reduction of negative impact of climate change on enjoyment of human rights especially for elderly and persons with disabilities,  Continue its valuable efforts for provision of safe and affordable clean water for all to fully realize its vision for the “National Strategic Plan on Rural Water Supply”.  We wish very success for Cambodia in implementing the recommendations.    Thank you, Mr. President.
